Global Trends in Education Inequality: 1950–2010

چکیده

We document trends in global education inequality and its between within-country components using absolute, intermediate relative measures. Existing studies have relied on converting categorical variables into continuous ones to estimate levels of inequality. Such procedures might not capture recent expansions the duration educational programmes. therefore compiled a database 1164 datasets with information years from large set countries across world. According our results, perspectives generate inconsistent narratives about While within- between-country fallen monotonically during last decades, absolute measures actual suggest that there be upsurge Irrespective notion we adhere to, bulk is explained more by variations within countries, gradually losing ground as source variation. These findings forces globalisation are rendering increasingly similar among them, whether actually increments or decrements depends what happens those countries.
